You know it’s not very often I’m lost for words talking about a restaurant. Our experience at Bûcheron last night was the best I’ve ever had in Minnesota. Humble brag, we’ve been to Michelin starred restaurants in Europe and the fact that there’s a restaurant here that gives me a similar experience here just makes me so incredibly happy.

The service, everyone from the waiters to the general manager Tyler was 11 out of 10. I’m not going to bother explaining what to get because everything we orders from the pommes dauphines to the Sakura Waygu steak to the sticky toffee cake was off the charts.

The way they were able to cater to dietary restrictions also cannot be forgotten.

We are coming back again and again and again.

I was at Bûcheron last Thursday to celebrate my twins’ birthday, and we were all blown away. This is our kind of place—a cozy and intimate space, beautiful yet unfussy food, and quite simply the best service we’ve ever experienced. We felt so incredibly welcome, we were all a little sad to finally walk out the door at night's end.

We ordered about half of the menu and the Bûcheron old-fashioned, smoked eel, celery root tortellini, and lion’s mane were our pre-dessert standouts. We were fortunate to be in the restaurant when the restaurant had black truffles on hand, and watching my boys’ eyes grow wide as Cory shaved…and shaved…and shaved black truffle tableside was worth every penny.

So, about dessert. Our family is more inclined to dive into savory bites and order one dessert to share or opt out of dessert altogether. I’m so glad I read the reviews before we came in—I knew it needed to be a priority. We ordered the cookies and cream, lemon tart, and sticky toffee cake—and when the plates arrived, our table fell silent. Good God, they were exceptional. The lemon tart was my pick and it was the best variation I’ve ever had, hands down. Pure magic.

We can’t wait to go back.

If I could give this establishment six stars I would. I'm a member of the Minneapolis hospitality community who worked in NYC restaurants for a decade and was thoroughly impressed with every aspect. The renovation is tasteful and thoughtful with dark greens, beautiful fixtures, down to the amenities in the bathroom and the open kitchen showing their incredibly impressive operation. We started with several delicious mocktails cuz we're doing dry January and they make you not miss alcohol at all. The space itself is gorgeous and we move to a table where we ordered fioe gras and the venison tartar. Tartars are my barometer for a good restaurant in this one takes the cake among the top I've ever had. Everything was perfectly balanced with cream and aioli and herbs along with incredible piped egg yolk every bite of this was perfect. We continued with the turnips which had a surprisingly delicious bone marrow sauce (that actually made me love a vegetable dish as a main)and the steak which was the beefiest and richest and most delicious cut of steak I've ever gotten. I can make a good steak and usually don't order out because I can make something better at home but this is not the case here. Each bite was savored. The service was impeccable with choices of still or sparkling water complementary and always kept full. The coffee service was adorable presentation, in the staff were all so well versed and competent about the food they added very much to the experience, with chefs hand delivering and explaining dishes. The key word here experience this is not just a meal and everything together creates a Michelin level of perfection. The menu and wine list are sophisticated and tasteful. Gavin Kaysen better watch out. There is a new top restauranteur on the rise.

What a dinner! The staff were super thoughtful and kind, the bartender started us with some amazing cocktails, then every bite was better than the last. The Octopus bolognese was to die for. I was not a huge fan of the Lions Mane mushroom dish but others seemed to be enjoying it. We will be back.

Went to the opening night of Bûcheron.

Service: Was wonderful. Everyone there was so kind and made us feel very welcome. John was our server. He had a good sense of humor & was very attentive.

Food: The flavors were outstanding. We ordered the steak and pork chop, followed by cookies & cream for dessert. The steak melted in your mouth & had a nice char. The pork chop was seasoned perfectly. Loved the cookies & cream. It had layers of different textures, which we really enjoyed & weren't expecting. If you like sweets and ice cream, it's a good go-to.

Atmosphere: Was warm & comfortable. Had nice dim lighting, but it wasn't too dark.

Parking / Location: When we saw this restaurant was located in Minneapolis, we were expecting it to be difficult to locate parking. We found it is not in the main area of Minneapolis, though & finding parking was surprisingly easy. There's off-street parking that's free, just steps away from the front door.

Suggestion: A good friend of ours suggested this place. Honestly, the menu seemed really intimidating at first when we looked at it online because we didn't know what a lot of the words / ingredients were. However, we were able to get past that and truly enjoyed all the dishes we got! Just needed to get past the initial intimidation. Would maybe suggest expanding on the description of the dishes a little just to give a better idea of what the customer could expect so they can picture it in their head or possibly include photos? Typically, what I like to do is go onto Yelp to look up what the dish looks like if I'm questioning if I'd like or not. Once I have a visual, it helps me to make a determination. In this case, this restaurant is brand new, so I did not have that option to look it up.

Overall: We are very likely going to be repeat customers and would suggest going here!
