Food, service , presentation -- all amazing!! Makes you feel like your money (it's not cheap, almost _$600 for 3 ppl) is well spent. Demi is definitely is in a class of it's own, especially here in MN.
Cozy, thoughtful, surprising, and well-put together. I highly recommend opting for the drink when you come in; you basically tell the bartender whatever mood, liquor, word--anything, and he will make you that in drink form. I asked for "law school" and was stunned by how delicious it was. The drink is undoubtedly better than the real thing.
We had opted to have the white truffle on one plate. It's incredibly fragrant and added a lot to the pasta it came on. Personally, I do think truffles are too expensive. But if you want to go for it, I would recommend getting it on one plate as opposed to each of them so you can try it out without committing and getting overwhelmed.
Hands down the best dining experience I have had in Minneapolis. our Host Adam did a fantastic job at explaining the food and wine as well as making us feel at home throughout the entire experience. Although I didn't love all of the dishes (which would be nearly impossible with 13 courses) everything was excellently prepared and I enjoyed aspects of every dish. There are only a handful of restaurants in the Twin Cities that I would suggest going out of your way to make a reservation for, this is definitely at the top of that list.
I must say this was a very unique experience dining. Each course is artistically presented with a beverage pairing that compliments the meal. It was good, but quite frankly not my cup of tea. The stories behind the food were interesting but a bit forced. By that I mean it was more scripted than conversational (which I guess it would have to be), given the pace and time allotment for the dinner reservation.
If you are a foody, I would recommend going once just for the experience. Again, it was interesting (the food in my opinion was good, but not great) but for the price offering I do not feel that the cost was justified. I just never really felt “at home” like I do at other restaurants. I realize I am very alone on this review and everyone has different tastes, but this will mark my one and only visit.
We love Chef Kaysen from his other local restaurants and thought we must support his newest concept! We were thrilled with the service, and the creativity of both the food and beverages. My husband choose the non-alcoholic drink pairing, which was delicious and extremely imaginative. We were impressed that such thought was given to serving the non-drinkers. The space is cozy and intimate; the perfect setting for this individualized experience. Bravo team Demi!
