Amazing food. Their pirogies are great and their entrees are awesome as well. Their food pairs great with their cocktails and makes for a very enjoyable experience! One of my favorite spots in uptown.
This is a cute little spot for Moscow mules. They have a variety of Moscow mules on the menu. Great drinks. Great deals. Great bartenders. Great space. It’s easy to miss this place because it’s a small spot in between two bigger businesses.
The perogies are delicious. Moscow Mules and amazing. The entrees and desert and wonderful. This was a delicious restaurant. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was delightful, andmy experiance was satisfying. Not only do they have great food and a great happy hour, their to-go containers are sustainable!
We visited on a Wednesday evening during restaurant week. We were seated immediately and the service was all around excellent, (friendly, proactive, well timed, and attentive). Place has a cozy feel largely due to the low, warm red accent lighting and compartmentalized seating areas; great date night spot.
Food/Drink
We started with drinks; Hammer Mule and Lemon Basil Sour (pictured). Both were well crafted cocktails and enhanced our dinner experience, however, be aware that drink prices are not listed on the menu and it cost $26 total for the two we ordered.
The Restaurant week menu included
Comrade Pierogies (pictured) to start. They were delicious and filling, striking a delightful balance of textures.
For the main courses we chose the Beef Stroganoff (pictured) over spaetzle and Golobtsi cabbage roll over mash. Stroganoff doesn't photograph well but it was flavorful. The beef was cooked a perfect med rare and the mushrooms had good bite. The spaetzle was honestly not my favorite (though we didn't hate it) and I think we both would order it served over mashed potatoes next time. The cabbage roll was really good and something I've not had before. The meat was well seasoned, cabbage had a lovely texture, and tomato broth lifted the heaviness of the dish.
By this point we were so full that the blintzes served for dessert didn't get much of our attention. We shared a serving (came as two, 4" filled crepes) and had the other packed to go. We opted for the strawberry and it tasted as one would expect...not disappointed/not blown away.
If we find ourselves here again, we'd definitely share a meal. We took home half of each entree and left uncomfortably full.
Overall, we had an enjoyable dinner experience with great service and recommend a visit, just know it will cost you. After tip, we spent nearly $100.
Nothing crazy to rave about, but it is a nice atmosphere work great food, quality drinks, reasonably priced, and friendly service. Nothing stands out as making the place amazing, but that's why it's worth going. All around it's a well rounded place that isn't good because it's trendy or trying to stand out. It's good because they are doing things right consistently.
