Happy hour is the key to this place.
I am in Minneapolis yearly for business travel. The Freehouse has excellent food which can range kind of expensive, but their happy hour deals make this go from a $$$$ to a $$. I used to work in the service industry and can tell you matter of factly that their bar staff is top notch. I've yet to sit in the dining room but the bar is always killer service. Highly recommend if you're in the area looking for a really large bar with an A+ bar menu.
Such a nice place and professional crew. We went there for Sunday brunch. I liked the atmosphere but i didn't like the food that much my pancakes were not fluffy at all and the omelette was a little bit cold, also the basil inside it looks not too fresh or old, although the wheat toast was good.
One of our favorite restaurants! The cheese curds are delicious. I also get the shrimp tacos and my husband swears by the thousand dollar burger. We took friends from out of town once and they still talk about "that place with the amazing burger". It's a casual atmosphere which is nice because it makes it an easy last minute choice without sacrificing on food quality.
Pros: Food was good. I had Thai pork, which was good and partner had backyard salad which we both liked better. Kids had like pancakes and French toast. Service was prompt and friendly. I had an old fashioned that was good and not horrendously overpriced. Prices were good for what we got.
They have a great, large patio and the inside is large and well appointed as well. Even though they have a lot of tables and space, I recommend making a reservation for brunch because it does get busy. They have a great selection of beer besides that they make on sight. We also enjoyed their cocktails. We appreciated them having a large menu. It is hard to find so much depth in menus these days. The 1,000 Dollar burger was amazing and worth returning for. The fried chicken and french toast was great too. The perfect combo of sweet and salty. Our server was great and food and drinks came out quickly.
