Lago Tacos - Plymouth

I’ve been to the two other Lago Tacos locations in the Twin Cities, and those were always good experiences. For the fact I live in Plymouth, and finding out that this place exists less than 10 mins from me, I was pretty stoked. Gave it a try tonight and I was very impressed with everything, the service was great, and the food was reasonably quick coming to the table.
I’ll seriously be back in the future.

Exceptional customer service!! Their Tacos al Pastor were excellent, as were spicy grilled chicken tacos. Nice ambiance however, I was expecting latin music. I especially appreciated how fast my take out order was ready. Great people!

Delicious margaritas (cool enough to sub rum for those not keen on tekillya). Queso was bomb (touch of spicy). The Southern Fried Chicken tacos sounded outrageous, but had to try it. Chicken was cooked perfectly (melt in your mouth). Blue cheese gave a perfect balance to the tart of the apples and sweet of the cherries. My son’s birria tacos were incredible as well. (Make sure to dunk). Savory, they must slow cook their meats. Great service from the hostess to the waiter. Will definitely be back!

The tacos are big and ingredients fresh and flavorful. We had carnitas (pork), guava BBQ pork, firecracker shrimp, and barbacoa. They were all excellent. When I return, I’ll order 2 guava BBQ pork as they are so good. Mind you, the zesty firecracker shrimp is quite tempting too. The menu offers many options to explore. The process point is good, considering the generous portions. I was hungry but two tacos plus our order of chips and guacamole was all I could eat. I guess im a two taco guy. The venue is large with ample seating - including outside when the weather warms up. The staff was friendly and service professional. It has a very upbeat vibe. Family friendly too! They have a couple of TVs mounted high. I find them unnecessary and distracting, but I guess some people like to watch sports while eating out. Ample free parking outside in the lot. I’m glad a good Mexican restaurant has moved into town. I’ll be back.

Lagos Tacos in Plymouth is a must-try! The service and food were great, and the fun NA tropical drinks were a hit with the kids (especially the Tropical Cooler). The tacos were delicious as always.
