Superior Shores Resort - Two Harbors Hotel and Resort

On the first morning of our four night stay right now.

We have come here a number of times, I'm sure we'll be back. The price is right, especially in the winter and for allowing pets. They are very pet friendly. The location is great (we're in a third floor annex suite, looking out over a natural area and pine trees to Lake Superior, and just on the North side of Two Harbors). State parks and Duluth not far away. We can get affordable suites so us parents have a private bedroom, with a Jacuzzi tub and separate door to the shared bathroom. Double sided fireplace, and in this room you can't see through it so we can use the tub in private. A complete kitchen, so we can stay in and have a home cooked (affordable) meal if we want, but there are a number of good restaurants nearby. Our favorite is a little drive up the road to the Rustic Inn.

They recently had minor flooding, I think on 12/30/2019, in the main Lodge. This happened while we were staying here last year in April too. They need to fix that but seem to be doing a good job recovering.

It seems there has been some deferred maintenance of some things in the hotel: there are some sharp broken tiles on the floor in our suite, some minor carpet issues. Not major items but things I'd like to see fixed in the future.

I know we'll be back.

We've stayed here before and were very happy with it. It has an indoor/outdoor hot tub and nice pool area, and really nice rooms with view of the lake. We really like this place, but it needs some TLC. The hot tub was out of order and the maintenance guy that was there said it had been for quite a while. It was hot, but the massage jets were not working. The slab outside the pool area between the building and the lake had a huge crack in it. At first we thought it was a small step. That's how large it is. Cable didn't work. Called the front desk and were told to unplug the cable box and plug back in. That didn't do anything and were told "well, sorry about that". Overall a very nice place.

We absolutely loved that Superior Shores had 2 bedroom suites available. However, the only reason that this isn't being given 5 stars is because the main bedroom was SO hot, and there was no way to cool it off. We had the air conditioning running in the main living space in the middle of a blizzard and it remained really hot...so sleeping was difficult. The main living room and the other bedroom both had air conditioning units in them, so those rooms were easier to keep at a normal temperature. I'm not sure of his name, but the man at the front desk was incredibly helpful. He allowed us to check in early, and check out late thanks to a blizzard. We truly appreciated his flexibility and kindness.

My husband and I recently had our wedding at Superior Shores. We couldn't be happier with the beautiful setting on the beach for our ceremony! Megan, the sales and events director, was so organized and always got back to us right away during the planning process, she made everything so straightforward so we weren't stressed! Our guests were very happy with the accommodations at Superior Shores/Kamloops Event Center, especially the catered food! We would highly recommend Superior Shores especially if you are looking for a wedding venue!

The resort may be slightly dated in some aspects, but we really enjoyed our stay. Reservations could use a little attention, some of our parties had various issues. We were staying as a part of a large family reunion. They catered a few meals, some were better than others but over all u would for sure stay again! We really enjoyed this as a family of 6 ages late 30's and children 13-2 years old.
