Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

Was busy and seemed under staffed for Sunday a.m. crowd. Server was not extremely knowledgeable if any "season" related specials existed. Did not ask somebody else...just said I don't think we have that. A short time later the table next to us ordered a flavored pancake that was not on the main menu. Food was fine per our orders.

Service was good, not great. Two days in a row they brought food but not silverware. All Food was warm, not hot both days. That could be a kitchen issue. Go there because it's convenient. We will try someplace else tonight.

I hadn't eaten at Perkins for quite some time, as both restaurants in our city unexplainably shut down and just recently reopened . My food was good and the coffee was fresh. However, though the server was friendly and knowledgeable when she took our order, she failed to ever return to check if everything was okay. My dinner guest and I did have some things we needed. The only way to take care of this was to stop another server and ask for help.

This was not the type of service I was accustomed to from Perkins - (except for an experience I had at a Perkins located about 90 miles north of where I live. There, the server also never returned. Even when he walked by and I tried to catch his attention, I felt like I was being ignored. He was very attentive to the large party that came in just after my order had been taken. Another server actually delivered the food I had ordered from the first one. I can only assume that he thought he would get a larger tip from a party versus a single individual.)

Perhaps it was just an off night for the server involved in the second experience of bad service. The rest of the staff were friendly and attentive. I believe the restaurants are under new ownership and new management and most likely have new employees with perhaps a few former employees returning. I will not condemn the restaurant by this one recent experience.

What I experienced will hopefully be an isolated case and during future visits I will experience the good service and delicious food that I was accustomed to in the past.

Upon dining there in the future, should I experience negative things that I think you should be aware of, I will update this review.

Truly, I'm not a huge fan of Perkins restaurant.
Have had terrible meals, experiences eating in other Perkins restaurants. My husband and I stopped in here last evening June 17, 2019.
Our experience was quite pleasing. We had the best waitress ever. The atmosphere was incredible.
The staff was wonderful. The food was great. I had the steak medallions with mushrooms, with fried shrimp and baked potato also steamed broccoli. Everything was prepared to perfection.
Compliments to the chef. Would have tipped the chef, should have. Will, we we go back next Monday evening. Also, free slice of pie on Mondays, which our wonderful waitress told us about. They will even give the pie to you to go.
Awesome, Awesome! So....go, go go to this Perkins restaurant if you are in town.????????❤
