Downtowner Woodfire Grill

We went here for an early supper before the hockey game . The restaurant is eye catching as soon as you walk in . Looks really high end .
We ordered the wood fired mushroom dip and the fried shrimp and calamari for appetizers. Not a heavy breading on the shrimp and calamari. Just enough to coat it and it was fantastic. Mushroom dip was ok . Nothing special.
I ordered the swordfish kabob . Swordfish was good and cooked well . The plate come with a pile of white rice . Bland and no flavor to it .

Excellent food and service. Stopped by the Downtowner before a Wild game and it was nice to see I wasn't the only fan who had that idea. If you are a fan of pizza, the pizza here is great. The wood fire style they make adds an extra level to the pizza. I had the chicken, mushroom and smoked mozzarella and it was one of the better pizzas I have had. I will definitely come back, especially if I am going to a Wild game and want to get something to eat before the game!

Guac appetizer excellent. Walleye sandwich outstanding. (Cooked over wood) Only issue: Stella from tap was not cold. Otherwise a great place to eat.

We arrived early and the staff was beyond accommodating. They got a table set for us in no time. We started with the scallop ceviche, it was great the flavors were very fresh and not over powered with sea food. The lamb chops where great, cooked perfectly and the flavor was remarkable. Highly recommend for a date night!
