Smoqehouse

We really wanted to love it here. The beer selection was ok, having several of the same type of IPA doesn't count as variety. The poutine, which is a favorite of ours to try at every place it's offered, was dreadful. The fries were great, and had a yummy sauce to go with them. It was also stifling hot inside and made us want to leave as soon as we arrived. All in all, not enough to make it worth staying for dinner.

Food is amazing, and the fries are EXCELLENT. So yummy. I would agree with other people that the portions are smaller than I would have expected from a BBQ place but otherwise this place has a great feel. It's not a sit down restaurant--you order your food (usually sandwiches) and then they call your name. The decor is fun and BBQey and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Skin on string fries are where it’s at. There were a ton of small ones that were hard to grab but can’t complain considering a small fry is a heaping basket. The brisket in the sandwich was decent but that special sauce made it incredible. For $10 it was a great meal.

The best burger with brisket on top that I have ever tasted it was heaven in my mouth. Great country atmosphere.

The Smoqehouse is unique. The inside is rustic. Glad the owner never changed the building inside or outside. If you like to try out unique menu items, the Smoqehouse is the place to go to. Did l mention the decor? The restaurant has Edison bulbs which gives it a nice touch. Please make sure you stop in if you're ever in Northfield, Minnesota.
