Steak and mushroom pies are delicious. Nice pastry and great filling. Haven’t tried the other pies yet. Sausage rolls were good but could do with more flavor.
I really wanted to like this place... I'm a huge fan of pies, all kinds, including savory. And they have a drive-through! The menu is a little confusing... "lunch pies" makes it sound like those are only available for lunch, but then there aren't any "dinner pies." Took awhile to sort it out. Then there are the names to remember for each pie...seems needlessly complex.
Anyway, tried the Pippin (curry chicken) and Anna's (beef, mushrooms and cheese). Both were mediocre. I usually LOVE curry, in any and all forms, but found the filling surprisingly lackluster. Same with the beef filling. The pie crusts themselves were a little too "bread-like" rather than flaky. Fries were good. "Secret sauce" was just a sweet mayo with ketchup, as far as I could tell -- good with the fries, but kind of silly to charge a dollar for.
My final gripe is that the cashier at the drive-through wasn't wearing a mask, and there were no barriers/shields like I've seen at other drive-ups -- just a wide-open window wafting her breath into ours. Just something to be aware of.
Maybe I'll go back sometime and try the shakes/desserts. But overall, seems like a missed opportunity. I'm always looking for alternatives to burger-and-fries drive throughs. Had these been tastier -- and had there been more side options than just fries -- it would have been a winner. Instead, came up short.
Visited for our first time today. Loved it. The owner was great in explaining things to us and sharing info about menu etc.
Pies. FINALLY, pies that taste like they're supposed to. Growing up in South Africa we had pies too (as do the Aussies) and these are as close to home I've had in the United States!!!
Highly recommend them!!!
Food was excellent! I called to order a couple pies for lunch and didn't realize they weren't open, but they said they could get they ready for pick up in 20min. Definitely great service!
We tried the chicken enchilada and chicken curry pies, they were both delicious. As mentioned in other posts serving sizes were plentiful. Spilt one order of fries between 2 people and still had some extra left over.
I do think the price is a bit high, but I understand quality costs a bit more. It's not crazy enough that will stop me from going back. I might also have to grab some frozen ones next time!
I’ve been here a couple of times now and this place is fantastic. The mini pies make it cost friendly to try every pie to figure out what ones you like: in my case I like them all, but the Pipin and the Alex are my favorites. The sausage roll is something new for me and I like it best dipped in sauce. I’ve tried the Bub’s sauce and another time I was given a different sauce by accident, it had “C” on the label so I assume chipotle and it was very good!! This place also has my favorite flat white coffee and they use True Stone beans. The dessert I had was a pavlova and it was very good. The fries were full of flavor. I highly recommend this place and encourage people to keep going back, we need to keep good food and coffee in the Woodbury area! Can’t wait to try the mocha made with Milo
