Fat Mama's Tamales

Awesome place !
I have stopped here every time I used to go back and forth to Louisiana....
And now ..it has been 22 years since I was there....but I had to stop on my way through again... even though I had to go out of my way a little.... those Fat Mama Tamales are THE BEST I HAVE EVER EATEN !!!

I will continue to go back on every trip.

Gave them 4 for awesome pickles. Sandwich was just okay, nachos were not special, homemade cheese sauce would help. Went for tamales and the were out. Tamale's is their claim to Fame. Think town loves their drinks. Lots and lots of locals. If not for pickles would given a 3.

Our first experience here was a bit confusing but after we figured it out it was pretty simple. You go inside and order at the register!

The ladies here who helped us were extremely nice and very patient with us since we didn't know the menu and had questions. We ended up sitting down and looking over a Togo menu. They were even kind enough to bring us our food when it was done! It was pretty busy since there was a reserved party for the entire patio so I hope next time we get the chance go eat out there!

The armor was amazing, everything was being cleaned as soon as people left and as I said the staff is amazing here! Now if only I could take back the brain freezes I got from the frozen adult drinks.

ALSO they have parking on both sides which we didn't realize until we were inside which is also when we found out they have drive through! Keep in mind though, if you want one of those adult drink, you can't take it to go. They have a strict no leaving the property rule posted, though we didn't ask because of this posting.

Overall we will be going back very soon and maybe ordering less food next time, or not so we have all those leftover tamales!

The food and drinks were great. I thought the menu was a little limited to mostly fatty foods. Something on the lighter side would be a great addition.
