It was an afternoon stop, and the server was easygoing and friendly. The food was filling and tasty. The tortillas were so delicious! I don't always eat all the "carb-y" food, but it was hard not to eat them. They had a nice flavor, like they were cooked on a fire, not a flattop stove. Yummy!
This restaurant location is on 49 south of I 10 not far from the beaches. They have daily lunch specials from 11 to 3 very reasonable prices.
They have plenty of parking easy to get into the restaurant. Easy to get out.
The food was excellent! The service was great. Our server went the extra mile. This is a great place. If you want to bring the family or you want a quick bite for lunch the food came out very quickly, so I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you’re in the downtown area and you want to put a little bit of spice in your day!
Excellent service and great quality at this El Saltillo. Fajitas were very good, and the lingua tacos were good as well. Very moderate prices and large portions for lunch! Definitely recommend.
New name, New owners, Same great location.
Great place to have a good meal away from the busy restaurants on the coast. The food was good. As usual I got the nachos. I had asked for ground beef but got steak. The layering could have been better as the nacho cheese had made the bottom chips very mushy. The steak tasted fine, however it was VERY chewy. So much so I had to spit some out. It was very stringy as well. But the taste as well as the cheese and beans were on point.
The amount of food was great, we all came back with leftovers. Very nice waitresses. We went in the late afternoon, there were maybe 3 tables, including ours with customers. With that being said, it was unfortunate to see a dirty table sit untouched the entire time (when we walked in/out).
Other than the name, the place is set up just like the previous Mexican restaurant that was there. There is plenty of space for large parties, and booths are the right size for a party of 6. There is also a bar at the back or the restaurant. We'll probably go again next we're down there, for the amount of food and the costs, it's definitely worth it.
We had a quick lunch during the rush! The full sized chicken quesadilla and half sized steak and shrimp quesadilla were STUFFED! Great flavor! The Mexican rice was perfectly cooked and the service was on point. We will revisit for dinner next trip.
