Did the seven course tasting menu and wine pairing for two as an early Valentines date. It was thoughtful and delicious. We had a dedicated sommelier presenting her choice of wine pairings with a thoughtful explanation. and history ahead of each course. The chef and/or sous chef presented each course with a detailed explanation of the ingredients and preparation. Can't say enough about how pleased we were. The amount of food was perfect, the service was great, and the wine selection was interesting and appropriate. I grabbed a dinner menu from a neighboring table just to see if anything we were given was "off the menu," and I'm happy to report that our entire meal was unique, and not the regular menu offerings. Pleasantly surprised to find a chef's dinner like this in Jackson, where we would usually have to drive to Memphis or New Orleans for something comparable. Highly recommend. Reservations made in advance; ~$350 including gratuity (for two people).
Elvies is a spectacular, local restaurant, in Jackson, MS. My experiences there for brunch and dinner have been nothing short of amazing. The staff are great and the atmosphere feels like home. Watching them cook in the open kitchen keeps your attention while enjoying a tasteful crafted cocktail. The food though. The food is top notch and you can tell everything is fresh and cooked with respect. The flavors compliment each other and dance around your tastebuds like Salsa Dancers. The food I captured cannot make up for the way it made me feel with every bite. If you live in Jackson, make it your duty to enjoy some of the best food of your life locally. Manship St now houses two of my favorite restaurants.
We just happened to be visiting from out of state and found this place searching for breakfast. The food was SOOO good!! Our server was Jen L. and she was great!! So personable and very attentive. The food and service was so good we had to squeeze in another visit right before we flew back to Seattle. Whenever we come back to Mississippi we'll definitely be back ?
I took my little sister for brunch. She got shrimp and grits I had the hash brown bowl. It was really good. I also tried the boozy coffee. Delicious’n
This restaurant has a new Orleans flare with its open concept layout and very stylish furniture and decor. The staff was very kind and sociable. But, most importantly. The food was amazing. If you choose to eat here (which you should), do yourself a favor and get the duck fat French fries. You'll thank me later.
