Fayard’s /Taranto’s Crawfish

Noticed a few people walking up to the service window and walking away with large bags full of Crawfish. I never ate a Crawfish. I made imitation crawfish patterns to fly fish but never ate one till 4/12/19. They young man inside the store was enthusiastic about his families history in Crawfish. I think Mr Fayard nicknamed him Cajun. Cajun asked that I try one. Behind the window was an enthusiastic lady who tried to explain to me how to eat a Crawfish. First attempt was a disaster. I dissected it and found stuff that I cleared out and ate the tail section. Cajun was on his fifth one and he sucked the head section clean dry. My second one was another hands on instruction by the lady. It tasted a bit like the lobster soup I had in New Orleans a few years back. They open at 11am Friday, Saturday and Sunday till they are out of Crawfish. Serving only Crayfish live or boiled. I think Fayards could offer a Crawfish poboy weekend specials.
