Traveling from St. Louis, Mo to Louisiana and took a slight detour just to try this place out. It was well worth the detour. Very good catfish and chocolate cobbler. The brown rice and hushpuppies were very yummy. Best catfish and Okra we had ever had. Our waitress was very sweet. I hope to go back.
You’ll love the small town atmosphere, and the fried catfish too.
This is one of those, “bucket list” type destinations. The food is some of the best you’ll find in the South, but it’s the overall experience you get out of going here. There is usually a wait, but no worries, you’ll enjoy passing the time in the parking lot with friends or most likely make new ones. I took my wife there tonight for her first time, to say she was in awe would be an understatement. It’s the nostalgia that gets you, but it’s the fact that there is no place like this in the entire world that will keep you coming back to pay your respects.
It's a step back in time. Great food, music and service was great too. Definitely a fun stop.
This place is a must stop!!!
