Just moved to MO from NY and decided to try this place. Glad i did. I received great service and great food for a reasonable price ?

Overall a good restraunt, but lacking heavily at the beginning. The chips felt like bagged chips that were a day old. Salsa was okay but poorly mixed, spicy bites followed by watery blandness. Guacamole was bad and underseasoned. Queso tasted off, almost like warm milk. At this point we were debating, whether or not to simply leave now. After deciding to stay. We were pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the main course. Everything we had in our party of 6 was quite tasty and left us with plates clean and wanting more. Only complaint was on the strak burrito. The tamales, while not prominent in the main menu, was among the best of all things available.

In summary if you can stay past the starters, one would likely enjoy the food and feel that the price was fair and justified.

We dined in on a Thursday evening. The place has a nice feel, kind of dimly lit for a relaxed environment. The wait staff were kind, friendly, and helpful. The food was hot and came out in a reasonable amount of time. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because the food was generally pretty bland. I got the Molcajete Especial, and while it was piping hot, and there was a lot of meat, it just didn't have much flavor. It didn't taste like the meat had been marinated (at all or not long enough), and there were a few pieces of steak that had gristle. I'm not sure if it needed more spices or what. My wife got the Burrito Mexicano and said it also needed more flavor. So the visit was pleasant, but there's room for improvement.

This was my second time here. The first I came away thinking it was great, this time just ok. This second visit found everything bland, especially the cheese dip, just melted cheese. So tune in for the 2 out of 3 decision, I am definitely giving it another shot based on the first visit.

The basic foods are mild but there is plenty of hot stuff to add in if one wants. People are very friendly and know the menu which is quite extensive. Family friendly kids are welcome. A "subdued" ambience ×it real artworks on canvas except is one hallway. . It is located in the old primas.down from Vrickstone. Plenty of parking . Easy access wheelchair access also.
