Love Tay’s Cheesesteaks. Visited multiple times now and will continue to come back for my fix. The bread is fresh and the food always comes out hot, seasoned well and delicious. Fries have a tasty seasoning as well and they have multiple sauces if you dine inside to pair your meal with. Try the cheesesteak sauce. Fire. Will be back.

I checked out Tay's Cheesesteak for the first time today. I ordered the 6" basic Tay's Cheesesteak with fries and a drink. At first I must admit that I was taken back by the $10.00 price for a 6" sandwich with only fried onions, but it was truly made with thinly sliced steak and served in a very good roll (probably Roma). The fries were fresh, hot and seasoned to perfection for my taste so I didn't even need ketchup for them. All in all it was one of the best cheesesteaks that I've had in KC and while not cheap (I dinged them one star for price), you get what you pay for.

I’ll admit bias towards my first encounter with this place as Tay’s Burger Shack about a mile-ish east of here is one of my favorite burgers in the city. I’m very happy to say the new cheesesteak place upholds Tay’s good standing in the city.

I was here at noon on a beautiful Saturday and while it wasn’t packed, there was a steady stream of customers. The interior is cute and definitely clean. The employees were typical Tay’s employees - nice, friendly (smiles!), helpful with any questions and best of all, appeared glad that I was there. That means the world to me.

The menu is simple. They offer 3 types of cheesesteak sandwiches: Regular Tay’s (with one choice of cheese), Cheesy Tay’s (two cheeses) and the Italian Tay’s with marinara and Parmesan). All sandwiches come in steak or chicken, onions, with a choice of white American or Pepper Jack, and the Cheesy gives you an additional choice of cream cheese or Cheez Whiz (Yo, Philly!). There’s also Reuben or Hot Pastrami sandwiches for $12.

Finally, you can add mushrooms, cherry peppers or green peppers to your cheesesteak for a nominal fee. 50 cents for a half, $1 for a whole.

Sides include fries, chips, potato salad, a pickle or extra Cheez Whiz. Plus, there are plenty of sauces and condiments available including Tay’s sriracha ketchup or Mayo.

Cheesesteaks come in 6” size (half) for $10 to $11.50 and 12” (whole) for $20 to $23.

I got the half Cheesy Tay’s with Jack and cream cheese and mushrooms and it was amazing! Prepared perfectly and served on a fresh roll that was delicious all by itself, they do not skimp on the meat. Along with a drink and side of those wonderful peppery Tay’s french fries, I was stuffed for the rest of the day for $14.

I will be a frequent customer at both Tay’s establishments on Armour Rd.

Pretty darn good sandwiches. It 10 bucks for a half (6") or 20 for a whole, fries or chips are extra. I was thinking it was going to be a small sandwich and I was going to leave hungry, but no there's a lot of meat and cheese on the bread. They also have pastrami and Reubens, but you're coming for a Philly. Get the philly. You won't be disappointed.
