John G's Bier Deck

first time in Washington to stop and eat om motorcycle ride and i sure am glad i did..has a family feel..people are nice.. and then i bit into my burger and think WOW!! as the juice runs down my arm from obviously a real handmade burger done AWESOME!!

Lobe this restaurant. Great food, great beer, great service, great atmosphere. Good for gatherings or more intimate get-togethers.

We ate at the restaurant Friday night and had a group of 12 people. The food was sub par and the service was terrible - after watching our server stand at the bar chatting with the bartender and not servicing our table for a solid 15 minutes, I got up and asked if we could get our drinks refilled. The bartender wasn’t terribly friendly in her response and it still took a bit for the waitress to come back to the table and proceed to take our drinks ONE AT A TIME off somewhere to refill them. My husband’s chicken was burnt to a crisp and our bill for a burger, a burnt grilled chicken and 1 kids basket was $65 - because they automatically charge a 20% tip if your table has over 8 people - so why provide even mediocre service when your tip guaranteed?! In a busy restaurant, I always side with the waitress, but there were only 2 other small tables with anyone sitting at them, so the lack of service was unacceptable. The lack of patrons should have been our first clue!

I would give the restaurant (1) star and the Bier Deck (4) stars - only because the menu is a bit too limited. Overall (3) stars for the entire experience, taking the Bier Deck into account. Won’t be going back to the restaurant!

Great burgers. Bread pudding is my #2/3 favorite that I’ve ever had. Beer was great too! Definitely need to go again.
