Bambu Vietnamese Cuisine

we come from years of Pho eating on the West Coast. we have tried a few places in town. this place offers the best so far for us. the spring rolls are amazing with both beef and shrimp and the peanut sauce is very well made. they provide the right amount of side herbs for the Pho. I did taste the broth to be on the salty side as each bite I took thats what came to my mind. My real dislikes are the fact the portions are so huge. One person can hardly eat an enormous bowl and they only offer one enormous size. which leads to left over food wasted because most people don't take the soup home afterwards. Prices, well to compare about 2 years ago the cost for Pho and Springrolls for two people would cost less than $25. but now you pay $40 for the same, except much is wasted here because its too large. They need to offer a normal size bowl. And then of course the smoke filled the restaurant like many other reviews mentioned but after a few minutes we didn't even notice it. Very cute and spacious inside. Typical Vietnamese decor. Two servers were kind and attentive. We are hoping to try more from the menu here when we can. We also just had water.

The food was probably 4-stars. I had the V3 pork and shrimp vermicelli bowl, which is one of my all time favorite Vietnamese dishes and how I rate most restaurants. The meat was grilled beautifully and the flavor was good, but it could have used a bit less sugar in the fish sauce you pour on top. My partner had the chicken curry, which was nice, but definitely also on the sweeter side of Vietnamese curries (we’ve traveled there and ate EVERYTHING, so I feel like we’re pretty well versed in authentic flavors). I’d get takeout from there, but wouldn’t eat in-house again because the whole place reeked of tobacco smoke, which was starting to make me feel sick and make my throat close. If you’re not sensitive to smoke, you’d be fine, but if you are, I’d avoid the place. Strange since it’s a non-smoking venue…

My new favorite restaurant!

I am sad to say that for the longest time I dismissed the thought of trying this restaurant. I cannot believe that I have missed out on this cuisine for so long! The menu is extremely descriptive and the staff is very knowledgeable and will put up with a lot of questions (trust me, I asked a LOT)

The food was quite simply amazing. Every single thing that was served to my party was full of flavor and unique. If you haven't given this establishment a chance I beg you to do it. You definitely will not regret!
