I love the city of New Orleans and it's food.
The only thing I like on the menu here is the shrimp Po Boy and that is easier to make at home than a cheeseburger.
Lots of people do like the Roast Beef Po Boy
Many like the Muffaletta, just not me.
My dad was a cook on a barge. His jambalaya was the best. He died 12 yrs ago. Since then I haven't been able to find jambalaya like his. Big easy grills is the next best thing.
I love this place. You need to try it. Maybe some items are not " real Cajun" like some obvious and obnoxious southern transplanted people have suggested. But being from Springfield it's a great break form the regular places around here. And fantastic service! As for the debit card charge? It's called supporting local business! They are just covering the fee's that they are charged. So pay the fee and help support a local establishment... or bring cash.
Big Easy Grill has super delicious food. It has a relaxed atmosphere and good prices. I ordered the Friday special "Shrimp Boil". It was so tasty with shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. Cooked to perfection. Yummy!
Our second meal was Fried Catfish with sweet potato fries and hush puppies. Amazingly good. Big Easy Grill is one of my top picks in Springfield.
Their gumbo is amazing! Although we did have to send it back for them to heat it up because it was not very hot. otherwise everything was great. We pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves.
