Gettin' Basted

Gave it a try since it's in the parking lot of the hotel where I was staying. Wonton nachos were amazing! Coworkers sandwich and my brisket played were both yummy too. Seemed a little skimpy on the brisket for the plate (two pieces although good sized) Fun atmosphere.

Wow! Just wow! We had an amazing time and get basted! The food was superbly done with an amazing presentation. Our server was on point. Not only did we not ever have to wait for a drink we never even had an empty glass. On July 11, 2021… whoever was the ginger work in the bar absolutely understand customer service. If your management and reading this. I would suggest giving them a promotion, but you do not want to lose them on the floor. Seriously, that level of service is hard to fine. Derrik, one of the owners was very generous with his time in talking with us about their process. He was bragging upon Brad, the barbecue an artist, who makes everything come alive with flavor. They barrel roast their food. As compared to some barbecue places that have large industrial smokers.

Gettin' Basted was a real mixed bag for me. The burnt ends were amazing - perhaps the best I've ever had. But the sauce was nothing special and I'd have preferred a choice, or perhaps no sauce at all.

I also ordered the smoked bologna expecting it to be something unique and different. If it was smoked, I couldn't taste it as it was smothered in the same unexceptional barbecue sauce. I should probably have gone with my initial impulse and tried the sausage instead.

I had the house made potato chips and found them to be pretty uninspired. A bit chewy, a bit soggy, and unsalted. The broccoli and carrots were fine.

I finished the meal off with the blackberry cobbler which was quite tasty.

The service was among the best that I've experienced in my 2 months in Springfield.

The burnt ends were enough to make me want to go back and give them another try. They were that good. Other than that it's just another barbecue place.

Best BBQ hands down. Very friendly staff,very clean restaurant. The atmosphere is very awesome. They have shuffleboard and a full bar. Like seriously so many different liquors its amazing. I'll be choosing Gettin Basted or Downing Street Pour House for my tummy filling needs over anything else. Just need to have sushi on the menu then it would be heaven on earth.
