“Do yourself a favor- EAT HERE! We were on our way back to Texas from Minnesota and stopped over for the night. I had read the reviews and told my kids we were going to have pizza. Told them this place had great reviews! We got to Eagleville and the kids laughed at me… “Of course they have great reviews, mom. It’s the only place in town” One bite changed their tune. It was the best pizza they had EVER had. We had a supreme and their Alfredo and of course the cheese bread. Trust me- if you are ever anywhere near here, eat this pizza!!!!”

“I almost feel like I'm gonna make the locals a little mad for giving away this secret Gem of a restaurant, but as I do, I review... The Sportsman's Hut is located on hwy W about halfway between Bethany and Eagleville right off of Harrison county lake. I'm telling you folks, this place is beyond words! I had a ribeye steak, a salad, and a huge baked potato with HOMEADE potato skins for an appetizer, the steak was by far the best I have ever had and I consider myself to be a steak expert! My wife had the catfish and it doesn't get any better than that, they know catfish up there! My friends had each a mushroom and swiss burger that looked totally out of this world! Very laid back, very friendly and a very home style atmosphere!”

“BRING CASH. Ran off the honor system. 10$ for 9. 20$ all day. 15$ cart rental. Worth giving the money. Solid course. Greens were really nice and medium speed. Finding the fairway from the rough was difficult. Hard tee boxes, difficult to get iron tees in but only needed to for 2-3 of the holes. Did run into a group of 10. Not sure how often that occurs buts easy to skip and revisit the skipped holes. Played 18 and would again!”

“Traveling through Iowa and it’s supper time. My wife takes us off the beaten path to this little restaurant. Reviews look amazing for the food. Reviews do say this bar people still smoke in so yes it does smell like smoke a little. Food was just as reviews stated,Amazing. We both got the patty melt with home cut fries and a side of onion rings. Owner, Christine was so nice and asked if we had any questions about anything on the menu. If I had one suggestion to those stopping it’s enough food for you to split. Take the time to stop it’s well worth it.”

“Very clean and cozy restaurant. The food was wonderful. They offer an all you can eat buffet, or you can order off the menu. Everything was very fresh and to temp. My cheese bites came out fast. Our server was very friendly. We were greeted and seated right away. The place was very clean, including the restrooms. A must stop if you are in the area.”

“First time visiting and the place was empty but had a lot of to go orders coming in and out, I ordered the chicken mushroom in the large size and it was large. They did a pretty good job with it, it was tasty. The staff was friendly and my order came fairly quickly, other than the price, which I thought was a little excessive, and the fact that there was styrofoam balls I had to eat from, it was overall a great experience.”

“It was food, I was starving, but the service was good. The bathroom is literally falling apart. The only thing in my meal that was actually hot was the veggies. I ordered something chicken and rice with pineapple, I think. Everything else was warm at best. It was fast, though, and like I said, the service was good.”

The only reason they got a 4 star rating is that when a phone order is placed the order is not ready when one gets there. We still have to wait for the order to be prepared after we pay. The purpose of the phone order is to show up and pick up, which is not the case with my orders. Overall, this is a good little food joint that has freshly made food. I have recommended this place to others and will continue to come here.”
