Blue Koi Noodles & Dumplings

On a road trip from Houston and this came up as a must-try when in KC. I'm so glad it was on my list! This tiny restaurant has been around for over 25 years and is popular to say the least. The staff is so friendly and helpful! The food came out quickly even with the packed dining room. So many vegetarian and vegan options!! The portions are huge so plan on sharing or taking leftovers. We started with the Homestyle Scallion Biscuit, Crispy Tofu with Spicy Awesome Sauce (so good!), and steamed Vegetarian Dumplings. Entrees were vegan Ants on a Tree and vegetarian Shanghai Wonton Noodle Soup. All of it was absolutely delicious and we had a lot of leftovers. Kiddo ordered a bowl of rice with crispy tofu: this was just ok, too salty and a bit dry. We also had a Chai Latte bubble tea; huge serving with lots of yummy tapioca pearls which is the best part! If you're in Kansas City and want something other than barbecue, this is a great one to visit.

First time eating here and our experience was amazing. We ate here on a Saturday night, had a 45 minute wait and it was 110% worth it! Staff was polite and took the time to explain everything to us. Pork dumplings were phenomenal! I had the meat wonton noodle soup and it was amazing! Tried a bite of the pot roast noodle soup and wow....so freaking good! Be sure to come here hungry, as the portions are huge! We will definitely eat here again.

Absolutely delicious. Fresh food with bold flavors that are just enough different than your run of the mill Asian food that it is still comfortable yet a unique experience. Traveling through to Iowa but we will definitely be stopping again the next time through.
