This is definitely a place to stop if you're looking to do some more exploring of Kansas City's local spots.
District does their own infused drinks, including brown sugar & pecan whiskey, five pepper tequila, and apricot vodka. The cocktails that come out of these wonderful creations are great, and the infused liquors on their own on the rocks are pretty stellar, too.
Service here is excellent. The wait staff are very kind, the hosts/hostesses are prompt and knowledgeable, and the food is great. The best seat in the house, though, is for sure at the bar.
Check out their First Fridays, when they do a shrimp and crab boil! It's an especially good option if you are a Lenten observer (but they do it all year around), and it's very well known in the neighborhood!
Loved happy hour here! $5 appetizers were great. We had the fried goat cheese, french fries, and hummus (which came with spectacular pita). The housemade infusions were also $5 and were wonderful! I had a black cherry vanilla whiskey on the rocks (see photo) and a blackberry-infused Most Wanted gin and tonic. Both were wonderful! Our server was very friendly, as was the other staff. Super fun vibe to boot. We'll be back!
Giving three stars ONLY because the drink menu is impressive and our waitress was very nice.
We decided to check out District Pour House for our date night. As far as food goes I was less than impressed . If the food was good I wouldn’t mind paying the higher prices. But it wasn’t. I got the voodoo shrimp, which WOULD have been good but the shrimp was leathery and clearly has been sitting in a freezer for weeks. I also ordered asparagus to go with it which I never got .
They were out of both the beer I wanted as well as what my hubs wanted. Then we were told we were given an out of date drink menu which is why they didn’t have our choices .
My hubs got the steak. He got truffle fries with it and the fries were good but the steak left a lot to be desired. It wasn’t a good cut and there was a lot of gristle in it .
Overall I would come back ONLY for drinks , because like I said they have a great drink menu. But I wouldn’t waste my time on the food .
Great service and an awesome menu. We did brunch and had Poutine, chicken and waffles, eggs Benedict and French toast. Every one loved it. Fantastic service. Only downside can be parking but we lucked out. Definitely a good brunch spot on Waldo!
