Out to dinner with a customer and ended up here per his request. Wasn’t sure about the neighborhood at first. The food is worth the trip. Try the worm dip and shrimp tacos......YES, shrimp tacos in the Midwest. They know what they are doing. The chorizo tacos are also excellent! Didn’t have any of the margaritas, but I did see a fishbowl sized one as I waked in.
I feel this place is a little under the radar because it's not always crowded. Every time I've been here its good to great food and drinks. Their brunch is on point.
This was the best date night I've had in a very long time. Cozy atmosphere, top notch service, delicious food, amazing drinks, clean bathrooms, friendly crowd. Our experience started with personal service from the bartender, making time to come over to our table and explaining how all the custom infused tequila menu worked. He came back time and again just as we needed him and took our food order as well. The drinks were out of this world tasty. Not a single bad drink on the menu and we sampled quite a few. The food was plentiful and delicious, I highly recommend stopping in for a bite if you're in the neighborhood. The decor was quirky and helped create the perfect atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and prompt. This is a hidden gem along 39th that I can't keep a secret.
I didn't know what to expect when visiting the Drunken worm. It seemed like a cozy place, a bit on the "dive" side. But once you have been in there for a little bit, you realize it is a carefully cultivated look. Very interesting decor for sure. We were greeted immediately as we walked in the door. The service is friendly and quick. Chris was very friendly and helpful. The food was Amazingly delicious. The house margaritas were fantastic. (They had a 4 page menu of just tequila and mezcal). A lot of house infused tequilas. The bathrooms were clean. A great mixed crowd. I had the Chimi and loved it. We will definitely be back and try some other dishes. Prices were roughly $14 per entree (a bit higher than the one $ sign rating on Google maps but well worth it)
The CBR tots were amazing!
