The Hi-Dive Lounge

Stopped in because I heard the meatloaf was good.. And it was delicious. The mashed potatoes and green beans that came with it was good too. Tried the wings and they're good too. The atmosphere was cool, more like a bar setting. The service was good and the price of the beers were normal/average. They have $5 random can beer machine that's pretty cool too. My only complaint is that the meatloaf could be a couple dollars cheaper. I'd recommend it though if you can get past the sticker shock.

Hip, fun bar with solid music and cool bartenders. Checkout the Mystery Beer Machine, pictured here. For $3.50 you’ll get whatever comes out of the machine. Surprisingly, even getting a Natty Light is fun when vended.

I can’t say enough great things about this little place. Today we had lunch with my dad here. We drove 2 hours to eat lunch. Food was great and the lady’s working were very welcoming, friendly, service was top notch. This will be the place we eat at over and over again when we are in the kc area.

With a reasonably priced menu of good food and a solid beer selection, Hi-Dive is a reliable spot for a casual night out on 39th. The place is almost always packed, as it's pretty small and there are only a few tables, but when it's nice outside, they have a decent sized patio in the back. It gets pretty loud, and the crowd is often younger. The service is great. Worth a stop, if for no other reason than to try your luck on the mystery beer selection in the vending machine behind the bar.
