Tons of beers on tap. Great food. Wish they'd bring back their bread bowl of beer cheese soup.
This place is my own little heaven on Earth. My husbands and my favorite date night. The atmosphere is so welcoming! Every time we come in, we sit where we want to, the staff is so friendly, they make you feel like family. We always try a different beer when we go (Duh!), and the food has never disappointed... ever! I always invite out of town friends and family to come here with me to try it. I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone :)
Unique is a word. The only downside (so far) is the "Seat yourself" method. Which - when busy - leaves muchvto be desired. Tables are often dirty, but you have to grab an empty when you have to.
Food is good. Beer selection just right. Once you do get a server food times are fairly fast.
Excellent selection of beer. Large amount of drafts to choose from. Nice patio outside. $4 taps during happy hour (4pm to 7pm on Tuesday through Friday). Food was good. About what you'd expect frin a beer establishment. Neat ambiance inside.
I live in the suburbs, but I regularly make the trip downtown just to visit Flying Saucer.
I joined the UFO Club along with my friend so we could drink 200 beers and get our plates on the wall. We eventually finished the challenge (plates 833 and 834 if you care... you don't, it's fine) and during that three year period we obviously visited Flying Saucer often.
Flying Saucer is a great place to go if you like craft and import beer. They have plenty of it and their happy hour/Sunday and Monday deals can't be beat. They also have great food that includes burgers, sandwiches, pizzas (my favorite), and some German options as well.
The service is also very consistent. It's slower during busy times (Sprint Center or convention center events), but that's going to happen anywhere. Overall everyone there was great and we always left happy.
I wish I could remember his name, but the guy who helped us during our plate party did a fantastic job keeping everyone's orders and tabs in line.
Overall, Flying Saucer is a great place to go to hang out, have a few beers, eat some good food and hangout with friends. Even though I accomplished my plate goal, I'll keep coming back regularly.
