The food, staff/service and drinks were all amazing. One of the BEST dining experiences I've had in Kansas City (or anywhere for that matter). Ben and Darren at the bar made our whole evening. The hot sauce on the fried chicken is the best thing I've ever had, and Ben makes a wonderful espresso martini. Can't wait to go back!
I was really impressed with this place! The breakfast burrito (with brisket!) and French toast were both very tasty. The atmosphere is top-notch and we're looking forward to returning and sitting downstairs in the super-comfortable-looking lounge area.
Chef Vaughn and his team continue to excel! As a local Lawrence farmer and food fanatic the appreciation for the quality of food and care taken while cooking and plating is exquisite! Sent friends the following evening after my wife and I had an incredible Anniversary dinner at Fox and Pearl. They also said they would be back and the food was AMAZING!! Great fresh drinks also! Sara was our waitress and she was phenomenal in every aspect! The evening was perfect and it's so great to see Vaughn and his team doing so well! Super proud to see the explosion in business and the community rallying around this incredible restaurant!!

Would go back for the service, good drinks/cocktails and ambiance. The food we were served was incredibly salty and 3/4 of our dishes were sent back. Our group of 4 is not particularly picky about food and that should say a lot. It was borderline inedible. The waitress was very apologetic and appreciated the feedback and even sent 4 little glasses of wine which was a nice touch.
Loved the patio in the back, especially in the spring weather.
This was our first visit to the "new" location, and it is such a nice space. Good vibes, good music, comfy seating. This meal however was not as amazing as the meal we had previously. The menu is pretty meat heavy, and there were very strong smoky notes in each course. The boudin was very smoky and the carrots were charred past what would have been tasty. They are also heavy handed with salt. The pastrami short rib was very salty (I know, it's pastrami, but it was a lot) and the fried chicken had a dense, very salty crust. But the green hot sauce and housemate pickles that accompanied it were excellent. Desserts didn't seem especially inspired or fresh. That all seems pretty negative, but there were good moments too. The drinks were all delicious. Service was attentive but not pushy. A couple things lagged at the end of the night, but who doesn't start to lag at 10pm?
I will go back and give this another shot. Hopefully the spring/summer menu will bring a little more lightness and balance between meat & veg, salty and bright. This is a place I want to love.
