KC BBQ can’t be beat!! Great food quality, fantastic service, and wide variety of meats. Be prepared to spend some money but it is definitely worth a try. The Burnt Ends sandwich was extremely good but I wasn’t a big fan of how the meat was shredded. The Mac N Cheese appetizer was delicious. The highlight though was their baked beans! Generally not a fan of baked beans but their take on them was superb and full of flavor. The sweet iced tea was average which was disappointing. Overall, 4 stars is a fair assessment of the experience.
Crazy-busy on a Thursday evening! People were packed inside and more kept coming in. We waited only about 15 minutes for a patio table. It's covered for shade and has both heaters and fans for any weather. We were celebrating a special occasion and ordered three appetizers (hot wings, shrimp, and onion rings). They were out of the mushrooms, my favorites, so that was disappointing (but I didn't go hungry). Appetizers were good; the onion rings were especially light and crispy. Our party had a variety of menu items including several meat dishes (the stars of the meal), cheesy potato bake (rich and delicious), full-flavored baked beans, broccoli that's always cooked to perfection, and a KC strip (seemed over-priced). I ordered the steak medium rare but it was still cool and purple inside. Instead of sending it back I just ate some of the edge and will enjoy the leftovers. If we hadn't had the appetizers and they weren't so busy, I would have sent it back. We definitely spent more than we usually do but have lots of leftovers. It would have been helpful for someone to be refilling water more quickly; the server was obviously very busy/rushed. The lemonade was refreshing but we already had our meal by the time it was served. We ordered the brownie dessert to enjoy later (it also took a long time to be brought out).
We are tourists to the KC region and were told that Jack Stack was THE barbecue spot! This place did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the restaurant was outstanding! James was amazing and gave us a great patio seat (even though the restaurant was packed). Josh was our server and was kind, helpful, and very attentive to our dietary needs (allergies). For anyone with dietary preferences, take note: Jack Stack BBQ has a fantastic allergen menu that identifies the common allergens in each menu item! This was perfect for us and immensely helped us with our dinner selection. The service was great and the food was exceptional. Thank you James and Josh for a fantastic barbecue experience in Kansas City!
We made this choice for our anniversary dinner, it was exactly what we expected. Food was amazing and the service was exceptional, Angela was our waitress she was amazing. She suggested multiple places for us to visit, and her service was exemplary. The food was superb all the way down to the pickles, I will say the sausage was my favorite of the meats, brisket was so tender, chicken was seasoned perfectly. The burnt ends both pork and beef were cooked just right. The GARLIC BROCCOLI to say the least was the most amazing thing I have ever eaten!! Beans and potatoes were good but that BROCCOLI was out of this world! We will definitely be back and I may have some delivered!!!
Came here for my birthday and really can't complain. I got ribs and they were really good. Margarita was good and the dessert was delicious as well. Cornbread and onion rings were good too! The service was great (Sam was his name), and the atmosphere is beautiful. It is a little pricey in my opinion but I'd recommend checking it out.
