This is the kind of place you'll make sure to visit if you're in the area. Everything I ate here made me want to eat more. Delicious!! I had the best grilled cheese on rye. (normally comes on sourdough but I don't 'do' sourdough). My companion had a Ruben that looked so good I had to steal a bite (well three if I'm being honest, because it was THAT good.) I got two slices of pizza to take home for a midnight snack. I took a peek at the individually boxed slices (yes, the slices were as big as the waitress warned) shortly after arriving at the hotel. The pizza looked so perfect, I had to try it while it was hot despite my full stomach. The pizza tasted better than it looked. The crust tasted homemade. The pickles were crunchy and tangy and tasted homemade. The fresh lemonade was so tasty, I think I may be addicted. If you have the privilege of stopping by, come hungry, wear loose clothes and tip the waitresses (even if you don't have to ask, I attest that they know the menu well and are very courteous to the curious).

I agonized over whether to get a roast beef sandwich or a pizza. Ordered a pizza. it arrived with igh-quality ingredients, and all the little touches that go into making a high- end product. But very strangely, it had no sauce. Like none, zero, none whatsoever. I figured that's how they make their pizzas, because how can you forget the sauce? It goes on under the cheese! Lol. Apparently, the woman making the pies somehow forgot. The service was great, otherwise. The counter girl put on a lot of miles bringing stuff to the patrons at the outdoor tables. But by the time I put the sauce on top of the cheese, both were cold. Never really got "a pizza experience" for my $23.
Should have got the sandwich, I guess. (And it would have been $11 less)

This is a one of a kind spot in the heart of downtown! The pizza is delicious! I thought $4-$7 for a slice was expensive until I realized one slice is the size of a personal pizza! The location and history behind the building is unbeatable!

This is a true hearty sandwich spot. Very deep history in the city with a great location downtown so it makes the ambiance that much better. Great to see that they use Usinger meat which made the sandwich even better. Plus its is a tradition back in Milwaukee so to find it here is a real treat in this BBQ city. Highly recommend the potato salad, that is as true to German potato salad as you can find.

Great food and super-helpful staff. I ordered the mozzarella breadsticks and Veggie Delight pizza. Both were amazing. My wife ordered the Highway Special and also thought her food was great. One comment about the sauce, I typically like light sauce on my pizza but didn’t request it. I’m glad I didn’t. Pizza was very light on the sauce. Great food. Highly recommended.
