Food & service was excellent. Be sure & ask for Gina. She is so funny & personable. Had the small plate breakfast & still couldn't finish it all. Biscuits are huge. Pancake are made with sweet cream & so fluffy. Will definitely be back.

The food yummy but they forgot two items on our two go order. It was the first time we ordered from them, so not a good start. I would give 5 stars if my order was complete. How do you forget an item we paid extra for and the gravy to the Chicken Fried Steak... Oh well, I'll update my review if I get a better experience next time.

Good comfort food and enormous portions! I ordered the chicken parmigiana and while a bit thicker than expected it was a good dish. Their marinara sauce is on point! I had sweet potato fries as a side as well and they were delicious. Just the right length of cooking to get the crispy outside and the soft delicious inside.

Others in my party ordered the egg, chicken, and waffles, and couldn't finish them it was so large! (Pro tip if you order this, look at the waffle under your chicken for a surprise.) I took home about a quarter of my chicken and lots of pasta, enough for lunch another day. Even the kids mini volcano was a generous portion!

Service was great too. We switched waitresses early on and it was seamless and they were both so nice! Great food and great service is a win for me. The only thing I took a star off for was price was a bit high and long waits to get seated.

This was my first time at Black Bear Diner. It just recently opened up in Independence. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. I ordered the Bear's Choice breakfast with a sweet cream waffle. Fluffiest waffle I'm ever had. It was delicious! They have the option of adding fruit and whipped cream to the waffle, so I chose strawberries. The portions were perfect for me. The coffee was hot and fresh. Overall, a very pleasant experience, so I'll definitely be back!

We had a short wait considering it was a Sunday morning. The food was better than expected. Our waitress walked right on by with coffee pot without checking to fill my cup. I had to call her over to fill it. Asked for soda refill and she waited awhile before coming back with it. The cooks and manager were working hard to keep up with demand. The atmosphere was very nice and the place looks great. I'm sure after it's been in business for awhile longer the place will get better on it's service. We will definitely be going back. Try the Grizz breakfast plate, was amazing.
