I was quite weary of eating out publicly, given the pandemic, but the Corner Cafe showed me there can be a new 'safe' normal. I appreciate all the precautions they seemed to have in place. This included social distancing by keeping empty tables between diners, and more. I was surprised at how comfortable I felt. Great experience. Thank you, Corner Cafe.
I usually get the Pork Chop and Eggs and I highly recommend it. This time I got pancakes with fresh blueberries added. It was $2.50 to add blueberries and literally there were four in one and five in another. Don't waste your money. Pancakes have that crisp edge you're looking for, but are still tender inside.
Go for the grits as a side if you have that option with your meal choice. Also, get a cinnamon roll.
Just off 1-70, Corner Cafe is conveniently located. The menu has scrumptious food with lots to choose from - there is even an all day breakfast menu! The server was friendly and efficient. This is a great place for lunch with a friend, or a place to grab a bite while you work.
We tried to eat at Corner Cafe the day before Thanksgiving. The wait was almost an hour and they had person after person picking up orders. Good indicators the food is good.... but we left. We did return on a less busy day and it was delicious! I had the chicken fried chicken. The piece of chicken was very tender and juicy. For dining they have a back "private" room plus upfront a large area with tables. They also have an area set up like a 1950s diner. If you like comfort food I would recommend you give this place a try.
