BEST biscuits and gravy I’ve had in a long time! I am a breakfast lover and after a semi short work trip to Independence I was craving something filling and delicious. The turkey biscuits and gravy came with eggs and potatoes, perfect combo in my opinion and the coffee was hot. I do have to say I am giving a very good instead of excellent because my service wasn’t great. I understand I was alone and it seemed my server had a lot of bigger tables however the restaurant itself isn’t big and there was plenty of help on hand. The young lady who brought out my food checked on me more often then my server. With that being said I would go back and probably try the breakfast tacos!
I'm here with my family a lot. It always looks like there will be a long wait, but it's never more than fifteen or twenty minutes. The staff is SUPER GREAT! they're friendly and detail-oriented as well as great at checking in enough to be curteous but not too much to be overbearing. (That can be hard to nail). Food's wonderful, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it's great to see that folks agree with me on that.
Went to my second First Watch in Independence on a Sunday morning! It was busy because the food is good and the staff is friendly and attentive. Smaller parties will get seated quicker than larger parties, but it is worth the wait if you love BREAKFAST! Their decor is very fresh and attractive as well.
We ate here for the first time today. They were very knowledgeable about gluten free (celiac friendly) options. The guy at the front counter was super nice, informative (about gluten free options) and juggled the customers very well. Our waiter was very nice and helpful, and made my ordering with gluten and dairy free seem like no biggie. Even the gal picking up plates stopped to say a few things and was very sweet. Food came to me with a little "allergy" flag. I felt extremely safe eating here and I appreciate it SO much. Also got a little gluten free treat at checkout. I do not know the names of the few staff members we encountered but thank you so much! We will be back.
Cozy place, love the ambiance. Service was great, everyone very friendly. We had to try the Millionaires Bacon, it was tasty! Worth $5 for 4 pieces? Debatable. Glad we tried it though. My hubby got the Farmhouse Skillet Hash, I tried some- delicious! Great seasoned potatoes. I got the Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast off their Fall menu, the pancake was great, everything I expected! The chicken sausage that comes with was pretty bland, I'd recommend replacing it with something else. Overall great experience, we will return!
