“It was a pretty fun bar. The food was really good and not priced above what I would expect for a bike rally. I would rate 5 stars except that the kitchen lost my order and then shut down to take a break before my sandwich was made. Thankfully someone realized that my food had never been made and eventually made my sandwich about an hour after I ordered it. This place will be really good as they work out the kinks. They have some of the coolest bathroom theming I have ever seen. It’s worth stopping by just to see it for yourself.”

“Stumbled across this place while fueling up my boat in Buck Creek Cove. The dock staff said I should try it out and I'm glad I did. I'd describe the atmosphere as laid-back Caribbean. The owners were there cooking and providing service, which was a nice touch. The Hideout is primarily a bar with outdoor seating, but they also serve a pretty damn tasty burger which are cooked on a flattop right in front of you. They also make a proper Pain Killer - a Caribbean classic. Might just make this my weekly stop while getting gas!”

“Loved staying here. Very natural setting with a creek that runs next to the campground perfect for kids and dogs to play in. Full hook ups makes it really nice, too. Close to shopping and entertainment as well. Hubby did some fishing while I sat on the bank taking pictures of the ducks on the water. Owners and staff are wonderful. I would recommend here for anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing weekend.”

“Good food and very nice employees. My wife had the pork tenderloin and loved it. The tenderloin was the whole reason we stopped in. I saw a picture on Facebook and my wife had to try it. I had pulled pork and brisket and my daughter had chicken bacon wrap. All of our meals were plentiful and delicious. I thought the meals were reasonably priced for the amount of food that you got. The only thing I thought could be a little better was the atmosphere. Overall it was very good and we will return for some more BBQ!”

“In my top 5 places to eat at The Lake of the Ozarks. #1 place for burgers and The Chick Chicken (I think that's still the name)...Dave has some of the most creative, flavorful Burgers at the lake. My favorite part about Taboo, Dave brings out free food, lol. He's like "here try this" but better than that, Dave always interacts with his guests. It makes you feel comfortable and in a positive environment. Add excellent food and drinks some live entertainment and you have a great business on the West side of the Lake of the Ozarks. The prices can't be beat for the amount of food that is served. How big of a burger can you eat??? I bet Dave will make it. Besides Sonic there isn't much open at night in Laurie to get a quick bite to eat, thankfully we have Taboo. Since they have opened I have had every burger on the menu at least once. Some several times over. O and don't forget about the fried oysters....they definitely on the my list of the must try places to eat at Lake of the Ozarks”

The service was a bit slow (to be fair we were on the bar side and the dining room side was busy) but our server Betty was fantastic! When we were ready for our bill and it wasn't ready yet she told us to get another drink! We LOVE that kind of humor! The hamburger soup was delicious (owner wouldn't give me the recipe but I would trade him my secret chicken wild rice soup recipe if he changes his mind ????) i ordered the smothered chicken and I could die the first bite. So good! Hubby got fried chicken and there was so much my Jarhead needed a to-go box! Seriously, if you want laid back, comfortable, amazing food and drinks... Chances R is the place you need to be!”

“This place is so lively. Great music and DJ out by the pool. Adult pool is separate from kids pool. Swim up bar. Good food and pretty views of the lake. One of the cleanest lake restaurants. Staff are super friendly. Kids pool requires a purchased wrist band to enter. Dog friendly with a dog menu. Cute gift shop. Icecream and smoothies for the kids. Sectioned off part of lake for swimming that has a slide. Huge dock with dock hands. Overall kind of pricey, but definitely recommend.”
