Mike's Grill & Tap

Decided to try Mike's again last night and was disappointed, I ordered the Chicken Pineapple with dinner salad and twice baked potato. The salad must have been sitting on a warm plate it was room temperature . The chicken was just ok would not reccomend the pineapple seem to be from a can cooked down with a little salsa (chunky). The twice baked potato was the worst potato I have ever eaten I dont know if it was from a box or what but the potato was scooped out and then mixed with what appeared to be precooked bacon bits not the crunchy type the bigger pieces kind and that's it no sour cream or cheese. Come on Mike's all you have to do is bake a potato scoop out center and mix with sour cream and cheese and whip it up and sprinkle some cheese on the top and put it back in the oven. Wife and daughter ordered burger and is was good . It was a Saturday night and the place was pretty empty for an Ofallon restaurant at 6:30 pm. Our waitress noticed I didnt eat the baked potato and asked what was wrong with it and I said it was not good and she took a closer look and agreed and took it bake to the kitchen when she came back with the bill she said she discounted my upcharge for the salad $2,00 I think and said the cook forgot to put cheese in the twice baked potato.

Burgers were good, sweet potato fries were great.
Service was.good.
Nice atmosphere

We came here on a suggestion from a friend. We really enjoyed the experience! The staff was very friendly and the food, my wife has the French Onion burger, I had the steak sandwich, we both had side salads. Really tasty! They make all of their salad dressings in house, fantastic! We are already planning our return visit!

A typical bar lacking charisma and ambience. The place just looks unfinished and that makes it seem dirty even though it's not. A good selection of micro breweries beers and the waitress was very knowledgeable of each variety. The food was good and reasonably priced. Not a large place, so big groups might be a problem.
