Mimi's Bistro & Bakery

We went here for our anniversary. Was nice. The food was good. Only downside was a long drive for us to get to.

Food was about a 5 out of ten points. Breakfast potatoes were very greasy. Didn't eat many of them. Lunch here is always great, breakfast not so much

Things have changed some at Mimi's. First of all no more bringing delicious little sweet muffins to the table. Instead you get one commercial made white roll with butter per person. Meh. A far cry from the muffins. They also no longer offer a lunch combo that includes 2 half-size items and a little mini dessert. The 2 half-size item lunch does not count as an entree if you want to use a coupon. The soft drinks are very pricy--3.29 for a soda. Food was good. I do like the French onion soup. A cup of soup is not listed on the menu any longer. Waitress was able to get that for us when we asked.

Food was delicious. Service could have been better. We sat outside and unfortunately our server was very seldom seen. But I would definitely go back.

I like this place so much I'm not sure how to explain it. The cuisine is superlative by any standard, with wonderfully artful seasonings that are interesting and perfect for each dish but not just different for the sake of being different. Their very moderate prices make the food a screaming bargain... you can easily pay twice as much for much poorer (and boring) fare. And Mimi's food would stand out at twice the price. Interesting and widely varied menu has something for every appetite. Staff is just plain wonderful; highly comoetent, quietly attentive and warmly friendly but never intrusive. Meals are carefully plated with much attention given to good presentation. Pleasant slightly quaint dining room is quiet and clean and comfortable. This place is a hidden treasure that is worth seeking out!
