“Update: this location is now using the old style, good bread. Changed rating to 5 Used to be great, now it's merely good. They changed the bread from French style to some kind of ciabatta / French hybrid that's not nearly as good. I don't know if they still bake it in-restaurant but it doesn't seem as fresh. They changed the 6" sub to a 5" and now call it "small" to hide the fact. I'll still eat there but it's not the great sandwich shop it used to be.”

“The Animal is one of my favorite all time sandwiches. It's so good, I can't bring myself to try something new, but everything I've seen ordered off the menu looks great! They have delicious homemade chips in a variety of flavors, too! They do delivery/carry out, which may be preferable because the seating indoors is limited. There is some outdoor seating...but it's right off of Big Bend, so the view is lacking. Definitely recommend for a uniquely delicious sandwich!”

“Tried for first time. Cool menu. Fair prices. Friendly service. I had to wait several minutes looking at my pizza sitting there until the guy that handles that station sliced it and placed it on a tray. What was weird is he started then got side tracked then came back to my pizza which took a couple of minutes. Sounds picky I know but there's nothing like a pizza coming out of the oven and right to slice. Anyway, toppings we're good flavor. Cooked just right too. Similar to Mod Pizza which I give the edge to for their sweeter crust Overall good.”

“FOOD & SERVICE: Our meals were startlingly fast, and deliciously prepared. I had a grilled sandwich. It was HOT and stuffed with richly-flavored tomatoes, bacon, and highest quality melted cheeses. My lunch partner had the new strawberry caprese salad. He ordered the half size, but it was so generous he could barely finish it. It was even more beautiful than the pictures in the advertisements. The produce was fresh and flavorful, in perfect proportion, and well-accented with a tasty dressing and fresh baguette. ATMOSPHERE: The parking lot was nearly full. Although there were dozens of occupied tables, indoors and out, the food & service remained personal. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant, with diners and employees comfortably representative of the racial / religious / LGBTQ / multi-generational character of the surrounding communities.”

“My husband and I dined here tonight for the first time. It is in close proximity to the Esquire theater and offers much better food for the same price as the theatre. Food entree ranges from $9 for spaghetti and fettuccine to $16-18 for meat entree options w pasta. The wine was a little expensive in my opinion ranging $9-12 a glass but maybe what they offered brand wise was much nicer, not sure. The staff was very nice, we were seated right away, our waitress always made sure everything we needed. I imagine the one lady was the owner. She was very nice, checking in everything was fine. Overall a good experience and the service was great. My husband had the chicken parmigiana and I had a linguine shrimp, crab and clam meal. We both liked the food.”
