Southern

Got a piece of breast, thigh, wing and drumstick each, plus southern greens and fries+sauce. The mild is pretty darn hot if you do not like spicy food. Chicken was hot and delicious. I do not like the southern greens but I needed another sample to know what they *should* taste like. Fries+sauce was good as well, but felt full after 4 pieces of chicken. Would have picked different sides so I could call my meal exceeding expectation, but chicken itself was amazing. Staff was friendly. Place was clean. 5*.

After a long drive back from Virginia we decided we were stopping here for lunch. Wife and I had been here before but the rest of the group had not. For two people you can't beat the half bird for $15.50 that includes a half bird and two sides. Add on a third side and you have a full meal for two people for under $20.

If you like spicy this is the place. If somebody doesn't this is the place. Without sauce the chicken is still amazing. If you want ask for sauce on the side to dip in.

The chicken is amazing. The mashed potatoes are made in house and you can tell. The greens and pork, the mac and cheese, everything is amazing here and high quality for the prices.

Also when those sauces say hot they mean hot. I go for the Hot sauce, which is not their hottest and it's enough to burn your mouth but the heat doesn't stick around forever, about a perfect heat. Next time I'm going for the Cluckin' Hot.

The food at Southern was outstanding. We visited on Saturday, July 27, 2019. I would even say it is better than Nashville's hot chicken! The line went through quickly. I ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders with original seasoning which tasted amazing! It came with 2 sides, and I chose fries and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. I am normally not very impressed with fries, but Sothern's fries were so good! They were crinkle cut and had a wonderful seasoning to them. I loved that you could choose white or brown gravy for the mashed potatoes which were also super tasty. Everything was hot, and the staff was super friendly. The only thing that I wish was better is their homemade lemonade. It wasn't very good or cold, but the food was outstanding so it outweighs that by far!

As southern as southern gets. I will have to be honest and say that the hot chicken may not quite compare to the Nashville joints but it is close and still delicious. The catfish is on point and some of the best I have had. I have tried some top named nationwide catfish joints and southern has some of the absolute best in my opinion. Their greens were on point and have that hint of southern vinegary goodness. We were graced with a biscuit for some reason I can't recall and it was surprisingly large and delicious. The honey butter is a great pairing. Their homemade deserts are fantastic. Chef Cole will not let you down. Just look for the lines of people you won't be disappointed.

Phenomenal. I’d always wanted to try Nashville style hot chicken and this place was great. I ordered the medium chicken which I found to be perfectly hot and perfectly flavorful. The fried pickles were delicious. Atmosphere, service, everything, fantastic. Well done.
