The Old Spaghetti Factory

I remember going to The Old Spaghetti Factory as a kid 40-43 years ago in downtown St Louis, & there was always a looong wait line, but so worth it!
My parents eventually told me it went out of business bc I always asked to go there everytime we visited my grandparents... I was watching a video just now on YouTube, & they mentioned The Spaghetti Factory... I said "WHAT" looked it up - And there's The Old Spaghetti Factory, right there in St Louis, Missouri! I'm calling Mom later when she gets up.

Interesting experience, awesome building! We had about 3 different servers helping us and all asking if we had been helped or had ordered yet, all very nice, but didn't seem to know who was our server. I ordered a shake, and the picture displayed had an at least 16oz glass displayed with the shake, but I was served a ice chunk filled shake in a small coffee cup with a stirring straw. Food came exceptionally fast, but they had forgotten the bread you get with your meal. That didnt come until much after we finished our meal. It was really goof bread though.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would remove the calories from the menu (yikes!) and add more light dishes. The service a little slow, but super friendly and professional (in fairness, they all had four to six large tables). Overall a great experience.

Amazing one can find such professional service in a chain restaurant. Lunch portions were just right. Our salads and bread were given the appropriate amount of time to finish before the entree came out. That is something I only encountered service wise in very upscale restaurants and not all will do that! A little detail like that makes all the difference.
Used to go to on the west coast as a child food is even better than my childish palate remembered.

We keep coming back here for more than 30 years for more than 100's of reasons. One of course is taste. And you haven't got enough hours in the day to hear the other 99. Take a risk, be bold, be brave and of course be grateful that I've sent you here. Make a memory and come back more than once. Enjoy the food, family, and of course the food!

I walked in on a Saturday night with no reservation and was immediately seated. My waitress came within a few minutes to take my drink order and returned with it quickly and then took my order. She was extremely friendly. Unfortunately it took a bit longer to get my salad and bread, then the entree and finally the bill. Taking into consideration that it was a busy night, it was acceptable. The bread was excellent, the pesto dressing was very good but the salad itself seemed to come out of a bag and was room temp, not chilled. The entree was excellent. The portions were good as well. The visit was very good when you consider it was a busy night. I highly recommend the Spaghetti Factory.
