Love the family atmosphere and how patient they always are with my dumb questions (because I'm kind of picky). Food is out of this world! And they bring a lot of it!
We have friends from Asia who now live in Missouri, and this IS THE place they always visit when coming to St. Louis. They say there is nothing else like it in Missouri (and given what I've seen of the place's customer base, it appears that our friends aren't alone in there assessment concerning the uniqueness of this place). With us in tow, they have a meal, and then stock up on items from the bakery. In the restaurant, the menu is simply huge, but the descriptions, well descriptive, aren't always the most thorough. The menu is numbered, and English translations follow what I take to be the name of dishes in Chinese. Ordering is a bit of a gamble for me: I win some and don't win as much as I'd like other times. I recommend the Chou Mein (egg noodle) dishes. The noodles are briefly fried and that creates a unique, inviting texture where there is crunchy and tender noodles. I don't think I fully appreciate the place, but if you want to try the "real deal", this is the place.
I've been coming here for Dim Sum (weekends only) for a long time. The menu is clear, and easy to read, and I enjoy the variety of options available. Everything always tastes fresh and light, especially the pastries. Cozy interior and while I prefer coming in winter, summer is also excellent. I love seeing the ducks roast near the front door.
Very delicious and authentic Chinese food. We go here for lunch at work a lot because the lunch specials are filling, delicious, and very affordable. The bakery items also deserve a look, because they may be the best value for for on Grand. I've gone here for lunch and just gotten the BBQ buns (which I highly recommend).
I took my dad out for dinner. He had his mind set on beef pepper steak and he was not disappointed. Very nice portion of food for the price. I had eggplant in garlic sauce, was not as spicy as I would've liked it but the staff was more than happy to give me a dish of chilli pepper oil. The food was fresh, sizzling hot, and very to tasty.
