At first I was skeptical because a $12 sammy seemed very expensive, but the price is completely worth it! I ordered a ham and cheddar on marble rye and every aspect of this sandwich was sublime. Run, don't walk, to get in the lunch line for this delightful shop! You won't regret it. Space is a little tight, but the staff is friendly and helpful!
The restaurant has seating at the nice sized butcher block looking bar and some tables as well. The place is quite small so you may have to wait to be seated. The atmosphere is clean & simple; the wait staff friendly & efficient. We were there for dinner which consists of 18” pizzas and several appetizers. We opted for salads & pizza. Our Italian & Caesar side salads were fresh and flavorful. We had the Classic pizza (tomato, mozzarella & basil) and red wine. Hands down a superbly crafted pizza. They give you one of several dipping sauces for the crust. We only ate half of the pizza & they boxed up the remaining half. For dessert they had large chocolate chip cookies which were delectably soft with plenty of chocolate melted chips. This went great with the perfectly brewed coffee I had. Also, purchased a couple of loaves of their fresh baked bread.
Loved this gem of a restaurant. Great atmosphere. Great service and the fresh breads are amazing. It’s not a bakery in the normal sense with a counter. It’s a sit down restaurant where you place your order for your take home bread when you order your meal. We hit a sourdough and it’s awesome.
Everything is made in house with exception of the chips. Got a sandwich/salad that was fresh and filling. Lines form fast so get there early for lunch or there will be a long wait. Located in a quiet block just north of the botanical gardens. Outdoor seating is available and the interior of the restaurant is cozy. Definitely a must if you like soup and sandwich spots.
One word, Amazing! Just go, you won’t be disappointed.
The space is bright with sunlight streaming through big windows and the food is amazing. Well worth waiting for or order to go.
We shared a Little Gem salad with bacon. Nice chunky pieces, oh my! The roasted pork sandwich fantastic. Don’t forget wine and spirits and yes you have to have the best chocolate chip cookie ever.
This is a must place to go. I must also say how very impressed I was with the staff. Not only do they do a great job, but they also work so well together. For me this really makes for a great place.
P.S. Yes, they sell bread, pretzels and a wonderful pizza rosa.
