Staggering Ox Restaurant - Billings

The sandwiches were really great do atmosphere was clean and friendly. We read positive reviews on the French Onion soup and went (1/20/24) just for that. They've apparently changed the recipe.... it's now steamed onion water, unseasoned, with a half inch of cheese and mushy bread on top. While the sandwiches were good, DO NOT ORDER THE FRENCH ONION SOUP. The new recipe is inedible.

I actually really liked the staggering ox. It's a unique twist on a sandwich shop that's entertaining and pretty tasty. I tried the S.O.B. and it was pretty good! The only thing I wish they had is like, plates to catch my crumbs haha. Also, as a side note, the staff are all friendly and funny they all were cracking jokes and seemed to enjoy working there, which I like to see! I will be back to try more food from them!

Overall I like coming here the food is usually very good. It usually has a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. On my last visit (8/11/23) sadly the food and service wasn't up to the usual snuff. The food was very slow to get to the table and it wasn't really worth the wait either. Dry crunchy rice isn't what I usually get here. Hopefully just an off day for the kitchen.

Great place to eat here in Billings. Usually busy at lunch but always worth the wait. Staff is always friendly and probably has one of the best radio ads as the poems are great.
