Semo Pasta + Wine

Had been wanting to try Semo for a long time and it definitely lived up to the hype! Food, cocktails, and service were all great. Highly recommend the bread service with herb butter, SO good! Our entrees and dessert were also amazing. Worth the trip out to Fremont!

The most disappointing part of my visit to Semo, is the fact I have to drive ALL THE WAY TO FREMONT to eat there. Seriously though, why can't this be right down the street from my house?

My first stop in was fantastic. We made a reservation for 8:45, not realizing they closed at 9 until we walked up to the door. We offered to leave, but the man who greeted us ensured us it was fine and welcomed us in.

The wall of wine was a very exciting experience for my fiancee, and she proceeded to dig through their expansive selection while I started making food choices. We started with the lobster bisque. Now, I personally am a lobster bisque aficionado. If it's available, I will order it. Semo's presentation was probably one of the best I've ever seen - the bisque itself seemed to be based on a squash or gourd base which was different than the other bisques I've tried. Still tasted incredible!

The pasta dishes we're next level - but the real star of the show was the steak with the fingerling potatoes. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, potatoes creamy and delightful, I still dream about this dish at night. Oh, and the presentation? Again, absolutely stunning.

I know Fremont isn't an easy drive for some people to make - but it is truly worth it.

Every bite was exceptional. Drove 45 minutes to try Semo and it did not disappoint. From the cheese plate, to the pasta, wagyu steak and chocolate crepe - we enjoyed every single bite. 10/10 recommend. And the staff was great too.

Finally made it in to Semo! What a great time. It was my wife’s birthday and they gave complimentary champagne to start the meal. Everything was five stars from the bread starter, to the pasta, wine and cocktails, to the desserts. Chef Drew is a fantastically nice guy who runs a great operation. We look forward to returning anytime we are passing through Fremont. Highly recommend trying this spot if you haven’t!

I waited a couple month to go explore this treasure in Fremont. This is hands down the most thought out food I have had in ages. I ordered things I usually don’t and made me reconsider them in new ways. Every bite was delicious and thoughtful and the flavors were clean and fresh. The menu is always different, but I cannot imagine this kitchen turning out anything to grumble about. Looking forward to driving out to Fremont more frequently in the coming years.
