Bernies Pizza Parlor

I got there around 4:30 and was told about a half hour wait. After an hour it was finally ready. I took it home and it was just ok. Crust wasn't a golden brown, more like off-white. Probably needed to be cooked a little longer.

A friend told me about the original Bernies 12-13 years ago and it was our ‘go to’ pizza place until Bernie retired 4 years ago. Same friend told me Bernie’s had reopened now run by his nephew. So yesterday I found their menu on FB and much to my dismay anchovies weren’t listed as side additions. So I emailed and was told “just tell them you talked to me” as they were a special order. So life is good...anchovies can be had at Bernie’s you just need the secret code. His nephew is using Bernie’s original recipes so it’s just like the old days.

Great pizza at a little higher price. I did not like the sourdough cheese bread, but others might. The brownies are awesome but make sure they ring them up at the correct price, lol.

First of all, I have to tell you that this is a take-out only pizza place. Long-time residents will remember Bernie's Pizza as an actual sit-down restaurant, but that closed in 2015. This take out venue, I understand, is the same pizza recipe. We lived in Millard for almost 25 years, and I regret we never dined there. While we waited half an hour for our pizza, (You, knowing that this is take-out only, will call in your order ahead of time and be given a suggested pick-up time), we ordered garlic cheese bread. It was phenomenal, made from freshly homemade bread. We took some home as well, but I would love to see Bernie's as a sit-down restaurant again, if just to enjoy that bread hot out of the kitchen. There is a low couch to sit on while you wait for your order. The pizza is a thick bread-like crust, and our Bernie's Supreme was piled high with toppings. On Google Maps, you will find other entries for Bernie's, but those are outdated and wrong. This is the place you're looking for.

Just like the old Bernie's we all knew and loved. Order the supreme and was supremely happy lol. Came out piping hot. Great fresh topping and a crisp delicious crust. The sauce is good and flavorful... Only complaint is it could have used a dash more sauce. Still amazing!!!!
