El Muchacho Alegre

Newly arrived in Omaha, we have been looking for good locally-owned restaurants. El Muchacho Alegre was recommended to us by friends and we had the chance to eat a late lunch there recently.
Service was efficient and friendly! Room decorations were nice and colorful. The menu was expansive and diverse. Most importantly, the food was delicious!

My wife doesn't much abide spicy flavors; so she ordered the Steak Tacos. She thought they were very good. There were 3 tacos -- which allowed her to bring one home to enjoy the following day.

I ordered the Seafood Chimichanga, but I guess I was served the Seafood Burrito... Not a problem! It was delicious! It was chock-full of shrimp and other fish -- actually stuffed (not like some places who serve a limp offering with just a bit of fish inside)! And now, I have a good reason to return to check out the Chimichanga. ☺️

By far one of the BEST ACTUAL AUTHENTIC restaurants. How do we know it's authentic? The rice is what we look for when we visit a Mexican restaurant and the rice here is exactly the way we make it at home. Everything was excellent top notch 👌 delicious 😋
The aguas Fresca are HUGE so it's recommended to either share it with an extra person or carry a large tank to fit it in 😅
The fried rolled chicken tacos and chicken fillet were of great portions
It is definitely a new go to in Nebraska since we never thought we'd find an actual authentic restaurant in this area. We travel coast to coast every month and can't believe we missed this hidden gem. Thank you Flor for your exceptional service and professionalism even though we arrived at 9:30pm. We usually don't like arriving in such short time but we were very hungry and being on the road for almost 3 weeks not knowing what else to eat is exhausting but next time we will definitely arrive earlier

The food was excellente! I relaxed listening to the music and watching sports on tv. Everyone was happy and enjoying their food.

Perfect spot for a quick and affordable lunch. Service was very fast with lots of servers and the restaurant was very clean. Can't wait to have a margarita on the new patio!

We order DoorDash and everything was still hot and fresh, so I know it was all cooked FRESH AF. Amazing. I am a vegetarian and I am pleased to say the potato enchiladas were AMAZING, the hot sauce AMAZING , and the Grilled Mexican Street Corn AMAZING. My bestie got the Birria and she was RAVING beside me haha! 10/10. So worth it.
