Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

This was our first visit to Firebirds.

We called ahead with reservations and were seated quickly. The waitress, Lauren, stopped by shortly after. They have a separate cocktail menu besides the half menu of wine on the primary menu. Most people recommend the Double Black Diamond Martini. My wife shortly after trying hers said she would need another. I tried the Kentucky tea (it was okay), but then tried the liquid sunshine which was exceptional.

The food was excellent. I got the 9oz filet and shrimp and this was one of the best steaks I've ever had. They have to be using prime cuts of meat and they age the meat 21 days. Seasoning was just enough to satisfy us but could use a dash more. The French fries had plenty of flavor and the parmesan mashed potatoes were great as well. The ONLY downside of the meal was the steaks were undercooked. We asked for medium rare and were clearly given rare. But, the meal was so exceptional we finished it all and didn't complain (but a steakhouse should be able to cook a steak to order). You may need to adjust your order based on this.

Finally, the chocolate cake was one of the best I can recall in recent memory. It was an excellent finish to a damn good meal. It prevented a 4 star rating due to the steak temperature issue for a wonderful steak dinner. The service was also impeccable, we didn't once ask where Lauren was. She even wrote me a happy birthday card. You be the judge on the steak temp. With tip we walked out at around 150 dollars per couple.

Everything was top notch. From drinks to salad, entree and dessert (not pictured). Great meal with even better service.

This was the best dining experience! The food was excellent. The staff amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection and the salmon was divine. The whole environment is warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back!

Great place to eat either lunch or dinner - wait staff is friendly, and very quick. The ambiance is very homey and welcoming. The smell of a wood fire is awesome, and the general warmth in the winter - and over all temperate climate during the summer makes this place very comfortable. Plenty of parking, a little hard to navigate through the mall area, if you are unaware or do not frequent village point. Overall - we like going here regularly.
