The vegetarian dish was magnificent. The flavor was out of this world and it was large enough to feed 2 people easily. Great food and at an affordable price.
I'm neither Ethiopian nor well-versed enough in Ethiopian culture and cuisine to speak to the authenticity of everything - but it looked cool and tasted amazing! I've been to a few Ethiopian stops and Lalibela has the best portion-to-price ratio and the most enjoyable food. Would recommend the Gored Gored dish with spiced tea!
It's a very small and homey dining room with friendly and informative staff. The tea was delicious, it's a must try! The menu is very simple, but the dishes have a lot of variety. You get a lot of food for your money, and it's very flavorful. It can be spicy, but you can request how hot (or not hot) you want it to be. The dishes are very large and intended to be shared, family style; but you can take home plenty of leftovers if you order a dish all for yourself. The food actually holds up really well when reheated the next day. The only downside i might note is that there's no changing room in the bathrooms; but i imagine that's not an issue for most customers. They also offer carry out and even have a drive through, which is very convenient. I look forward to coming back again soon.
Upon entering Lalibela the first thing you'll notice is that it smells amazing. It is cute, clean and peaceful with a mellow, welcoming vibe. As this was my first time I ordered the combo. The food was fresh, tasty and delicious. It was fun scooping my bites with injera, the spongy bread used as a spork in Ethiopian cuisine, but I will admit once I was given silverware, I reverted to my customary manner of dining. This place is fantastic, I can tell that I'm going to be obsessed with their food and will enjoy exploring their menu in the upcoming weeks and months.
Excellent food quality. All the options have a good taste and good preparation. Everything is eaten with a side spongy stile bread (injera). A warning would be recommend for the green sauce which is spicy. You have to eat with your hands, so mind that when you go there. The atmosphere is cozy and well decorated, although they could add some information about the country and dishes. Serving time is adequate considering the preparation time required. The serving amount is big enough to feed two persons with one dish.
