Shaheen's Afghan Cuisine

Delicious, authentic food and great atmosphere! We enjoyed introducing our kids to food from another part of the world. Our waiter was a native of Afghanistan and was able to tell us a bit about the country which was neat! The food was very flavorful! We would eat here again!

As an Afghan, I have high standards for Afghan food. And Shaheen’s certainly does a great job of meeting my expectations
The kabobs are very well cooked, the meat is tender, well flavored, and easy to bite into and chew.
The yogurt drinks are weak, in my opinion, they’re way too watered down and need to be more sour. The bread would have been better if it was a brick oven type bread, but the food quality overall still gets me to give them 5 stars. I highly recommend checking out Shaheen’s in Benson.

It was our first time visiting & eating Afghan food. We were not disappointed. The son of the owner explained all the plates and was so informative, we ended up going with the mantu ( beef dumplings with lentils) the mixed combo, and the eggplant appetizer, as well as the yogurt lassi drink ( it’s salty!) everything was spiced perfectly, not spicy, and so so yummy! Our favorite was the eggplant dish!

Came in for lunch and was amazed at the space! There are 3 floor cubby spaces to eat in with cushions and curtains and pillows, it's amazing. There's a prayer cubby as well. It's so clean and bright and smells amazing. The host/server was very kind. I want to try everything on the menu!

Just had dinner here tonight for the first time. The food was delicious!! The mantu (beef filled dumplings) were a filling appetizer loaded with deep flavor. Since it was my first time here, it made sense to try the Mix Combo consisting of lamb, ground lamb kebab, and chicken. All of the meat was cooked perfectly and each one had its own unique flavor. I will definitely be dining here again soon!!
