V. Mertz

The last time we visited V Mertz was before the pandemic. We come here for special occasions since it is well out of our way, but we absolutely love it. We always ask for a particular waiter because the service is so good. Highly recommend this place. Amazing food, amazing service. Very romantic too. Great place for a special date, anniversary, or small quaint gathering. Recommend

V.Mertz is one of my favorite restaurants in Omaha, especially at this price point. They have a perfect location in the Old Market passageway. You can sit outside the main restaurant and watch people shop if you like. The service is first rate. I don't stray far from their specialty, which is the pepper steak. It is excellent every time. They also make a mean martini and the desserts are decadent and worth saving room for.

The espagnole sauce over the butternut squash was delectable. For the main coarse, the husband got pork loin with golden Yukon potatoes topped with heirloom peppers that resembled confetti. It was a beautiful creation. I had the Amberjack, which came in a bowl of locally sourced vegetables and butter sauce.

Wonderful food although quite expensive. Great environment. Our waiter was amazing in all she knew about the different foods. A great place to go if you want to impress someone. The ambiance in the weigh-in is beautiful.

A really fantastic restaurant with equally fantastic service. Every dish was unique and so well explained. Highly recommend this for any special occasion or when you want to spoil yourself. Parking can be a little challenging but it's worth the effort.
