Canyon Joe’s Barbecue

People were very friendly and helpful at the restaurant.
Get there early because they sell out of things. We missed out on the ribs but got to try some because a friend had ordered extra to go and was kind enough to share.

The 5 star items were the ribs (the bark was really nice and has a great smoky flavor) and the sausage for me.
The brisket it depended. The pieces I had weren't consistent enough.
Turkey was a 4 star.
We went when they had pork belly burnt ends. My friends really enjoyed it, but because of my cultural upbringing, I did not like how tough the sides of the pieces were on the ones I received. It has good flavor.
I enjoyed all the desserts we tried.
There was a peanut butter one, a hummingbird cake I think they said, and the banana pudding.

Parking is available on the street for free.

If you haven't heard there's a new place in town for Smoked BBQ. That place is Canyon Joe's Barbeque. I've had them on my radar and thought today is the day! All I can say is why did I wait even this long?

One bite is all it took to make me a believer that this is hands down some of the best BBQ in town. The meats are Smoked to perfection with a beautiful smoke ring and fork tender. Prices are reasonable with daily specials available.

Meet the Owner Joe. He has been smoking meats for over 7 years and he does things the Texas way. Having lived in Texas, home of the best BBQ, he brings all he learned to the table. For Joe smoking meats is a passion. Monday's and Tuesdays are spent prepping and Wenesday through Saturday from 7am until 3pm or they run out of meat, which is pretty much a guarantee, you will find Joe's friendly face behind the counter.

My advice is this. Arrive early and try everything!

Wow! What a spot! Joe knows what he’s doing! We had ribs, brisket and pulled pork sandwiches and sausage! My faves were the brisket and sausage although everything is good! For our sides we had Mac n cheese (best Mac n cheese I’ve had maybe ever!!!) potato salad and borracho beans. Everything is so good and worth the wait in line if your wondering! We went early and lunch started right at 11am on the dot! Can’t wait to take all my friends and family here and try some of their other offerings! 10/10 in my book!

The Brisket on a Biscuit was phenomenal. Smoked perfectly with a great smoke ring.
I was there early for breakfast so there was not many customers and the owner actually sat down and chatted with me why I had my breakfast.

Came by last week but they were sold out already. Decided to go early for lunch this time (around 11am), and by the time I left, there was a long line out the door. I got the brisket and mac and both were sensational! The Texas bbq sauces were delicious, too, and I inhaled my meal in less than 20 minutes. I'll be back to try their other meats and sides. Great food, great service, great location. All in all, a great addition to Lincoln! 🍖
